Why should I get a carry permit?

Why should I get a carry permit?

"A well-regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed."

*The Militia is US. "we the people".

*The definitions of "well regulated" at the time of the writing of the Bill of Rights, meant "well trained".

  • Shows Law Enforcement that you have passed a background check. Can help lower anxiety during a stop.
  • Shows a court / jury that you have had basic training in firearms.
  • Allows you to take a new purchase home same day.
  • May be required if you travel to other states. Constitutional carry in some states may require that you're a resident of that state or have a CCW from your home state!

poor vs quality training

I have heard and actually seen "instructors" teach a 1-2 hr. class & then take students to the range and fire ONE SINGLE BULLET at a target, and sign them off.

I've seen them sign off students as proficient, that could not hit a target. Signed off in these cases that the students met criteria for Concealed Weapon License requirements.

I assure you we DO NOT DO THAT !

Our CWFL training meets all requirements of FL Statute 790.0 and does require live fire training with real ammo and real firearms.

Simulation training, electronic shooting or online training of proficiency is NOT acceptable per The Florida Dept. of Agriculture. We have that in writing!

Don't be scammed by others !

Having a Firearm

The World We Live IN

poor vs quality training

is not a guarantee of victory in a bad encounter, but it IS an effort to at least give yourself a fighting chance to survive the attack. That chance is further improved if one is well trained and proficient in its use.

Tools vs Weapons

The World We Live IN

The World We Live IN

A firearm is a tool, nothing more.

The weapon is the mind. Be it good or evil.

************************

Lay a loaded firearm on a table, or the ground, and it will lay there until it rusts away or until outside intervention.

The World We Live IN

Our world is a dangerous place, and it has been proven, on multiple occasions, that when a bad encounter degrades to the worst possible scenario, total submission to a violent attacker is the absolute worst possible action a victim can take. Hugs and good thoughts don't work either.

Turn you into a hooded, helmeted, tactical door crasher or SWAT sniper, as that is not our goal.

Provide you with training to educate you to the threats of today, both inside and outside the home and workplace. In the process you will make new friends and learn new skills, maybe even improve on existing skills, and experience that shooting is also a fun sport.
